Circulation & Fines Policies

These policies are for students only.  Faculty and staff have less restrictions.

Destiny Online: You can login to Destiny and "My Info" will show what books you have out, when they are due, and any balances unpaid. Books and fines due to prior schools within the District can be resolved here.  Bring the books to the NAHS library and pay the fines to us. We can clear them in Destiny, and will get them back to their home school. See the Destiny info on the menu to learn how to login to Destiny.

Textbooks: The Library does not oversee textbooks or assigned novels, although they do show in Destiny, because we use the same system. Questions about textbooks should go to the main office.

Limits: Up to three items at a time  for two weeks may be checked out from the Library. Titles already circulating can placed on hold and when a patron returns a copy, the student waiting for the book will receive notice via mymail and the book will be held at the front desk for a week. Some materials may not be checked out or have holds or limitations (oversized books and magazines for example).  All books, except Manga, may be renewed for checkout up to three times, unless a hold request by someone else intercedes.

Manga: Due to their high demand, Manga cannot be renewed and can only be checked out for two weeks once.  Only two volumes can be checked out per student at a time.  Policy below.

Book care:  A lost or ripped book jacket (aka dust cover) for a hardcover book is damage to the book.  Wet, warped or ripped pages are also considered damaged.

Fines: We no longer charge late fees. Lost or damaged materials will be charged per the policy document below.  Before graduating, seniors must resolve all their unpaid balances. We only accept cash. The Library is not equipped to accept any other form of payment.
